Nordische Heerfahrt
The Schauspielhaus Hamburg in Second Life
„The play takes place around the time of Erik Blutaxt.” This is the opening to Ibsen’s less known play, written in his youth and finished at the age of 29, in 1857. It is a ‘Viking drama’; an epic play filled with blood, revenge, and surging emotions. It is a thriller, a trashy novel, a play filled with adventure, and a great love story.
Roger Vontobel directs Ibsens "Nordische Heerfahrt" at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg. In search for new heros of our time he and the actors are going to explore Second Life as a new form of life and interaction. The play will take place on stage at the Malersaal and in Second Life as well. The Schauspielhaus asked us to take care of all related technical aspects, create the virtual stage and train the actors.
In August and September we did research on Second Life and planned the technically requirements for the production. Since October we work in Second Life on the stage design and build furniture, stage inventory and the viking outside world.
The play will receive its premiere in January, rehearsal will start in November.

Play memory with cover artworks.
It's done and it is fun: Explore similarities in visual representation of music. In November 2006 we released playmemusic.com, a small playground for online memory games with cover artworks grouped by visual similarities. Every week we release a new game. Last.fm users should try the individual memory based on their top 8 alltime favourite albums.
Technical
- Information for the releases and cover artworks is taken from the amazon API.
- The memory itself is programmed in ActionScript, game content is loaded via XML.
- Expanding info boxes on the left appear with scriptalicious effects.
- The Backend is based on our own small PHP framework and uses a mysql database.
- last.fm memory is based on the audioscrobbler API.

A visual interface to explore relationships between del.icio.us users
De.licio.us is one of the most famous social-web applications. It keeps your bookmarks and lets you share them with your friends and discover new things on the web.
Our del.icio.us network explorer is a visual interface to explorer the relationsships between users. The explorer is written in processing and uses force directed graph visualization: Nodes repel like magnets. The edges between the nodes act like springs. New nodes start from a random position and run to convergence.
Technical
- Written in processing
- Takes the data from del.icio.us JSON-feeds
- Uses trear.physics and treat.animation for graph visualization
- Inspired by aharefs html visualizer
